Hand cut and printed Lino block t-shirt.

Gamblin Textile Ink

Gildan Soft-style - Preshrunk  - Cotton

The design is based on the Greta Gargoyle song 'Latimeria'. It depicts real life young naturalist Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer pushing around a Coelacanth in a wheelbarrow in 1938, South Africa. After fishermen brought the strange fish to her attention she strove to preserve it by trying to bring it to a cold storage facility and a morgue with no luck, resorting finally to getting the specimine taxidermied. It was later confirmed to be the famous Coelacanth, thought to have been exinct for 66 million years. The species of fish was subsequently named after her and the Chalumna River it was found on: Latimeria Chalumnae.

The song is about the majesty of the fish itself and Marjorie's endevours to preserve and revere it.

Not a monster. Not a prize.
